Peony is a princess in line for her throne! She is a doll and will sit on your lap like one.
She is sweet and sensitive. Dry oatmeal is her favorite treat and she will eat it right from your hand. In her past time, she likes to exercise outside, eat greens, and take naps.
Peony would probably do well in a family with older children or just adults since she is a little sensitive. With a little bit of patience and a lot of greens fed by hand, peony will be sure to bloom for you.

Savannah is an extremely mild mannered rabbit. She is easy to pick up and hold. She has a low energy level, but would benefit from having enough space to do binkies at least once a day.
Savannah was born at Breadbox in 2023 to Dililah and Ishmael. In he time with us she had 4 litters and 6 kits total. Her daughter Cloud is staying in our breeding program.
She would do well in most home environments and could possibly do well bonding to another bunny.

Coco is a sassy queen who knows what she wants. And what she wants is snuggles. She was born and bred at Breadbox and adopted, but came back to us a few months ago.
Coco will sit with you indefinitely as long as you are giving her good, full body scratches (and pay attention to those cheeks too!). If you forget to keep going she will make her displeasure known quite clearly. When worshiped properly, however, she will reward you by chinning your nose or hands (how bunnies sent mark something or someone as their own).
Coco is looking for someone to love her like she deserves and has enough space for her to run around.

Living most of her life at Breadbox Farm, Serafina has been a significant member of our breeding program for the last 3 years. This chunky mama cherishes lap time, but needs confident handling when being transported in and out of the cage. Curiously, she will perk her head up to survey her surroundings, but will quickly retreat from loud noises or fast movements. Even though Serafina maintains a reserved and slightly shy nature, she is a princess at heart when handled properly, searching for her forever home.
Serafina is a salad lover who can at times be particular about what she likes. She can’t wait to introduce her taste buds to her new family. She would also thrive in a living space that is equipped for exploratory enrichment where she can build trust with patient/calm individuals.

We accept all breeds of rabbits into our rescue program so you never know who you will find here! If you are ready to open your heart to a rabbit with some trust issues, this may be the perfect place for you.
Adoption Process

Research everything you need to know about caring for a rabbit on our Rabbit Care page. We expect our adopters to be knowledgeable and prepared before meeting with us.
Apply for adoption. Lisa or Robin will give you a call within a week if you are approved.
You will be invited to meet with one of our staff members in Chapel Hill for an hour to meet any rabbits you may be interested in.
If you are not local, we can send you photos and videos, as well as meeting by FaceTime or Google Meet.
To “reserve’ a rabbit you will be required to pay in full. If you decide to not go forward with the adoption for any reason, you will be refunded the full amount, minus a 3.5% processing fee.
Adoption Fee Includes:
Full health check including skin, ears and nose, vent area, and the alignment of the teeth
A few days of transition pellet food
A nail trimming lesson and grooming services for locals
Future email support for all rabbit related inquires
Each rabbit is fed a super premium organic diet supplemented with fresh greens and herbs from our regenerative eco-gardens. We import fresh Timothy hay from organic farmers in the US and blend it with locally grown organic orchard grass. We also treat our rabbits to botanical hay blends, immune boosting forages, and dried fruit treats we make in house.
Our promise is to provide you with the healthiest rabbit possible. There are currently no rabbit vaccines required for the State of North Carolina but it is worth looking into the virus RHDV2 if you will be travelling to other areas with your rabbit or live in a state with an outbreak.
Guarantee
Although we do our best to choose bunnies with excellent health and temperament, we do realize that we cannot predict the future and issues may arise. If this were to happen we will work with you to solve the problem and will provide you with a replacement companion, if it should come to that. We do not issue refunds, but if at any point you are not able to care for your rabbit anymore, we will gladly take them back (cage required, as we do not often have empty cages.)
