Adult Netherland Dwarfs

Our rabbits are bred to the standard of perfection set forth by ARBA. We strive for genetic excellence and health as well fantastic temperament. They are sweet natured, gentle, and quiet pets who have big personalities when given the space and time to express themselves.

We expect our pet adopters to do their research before contacting us. To learn about Netherland Dwarf pet care, please see our Rabbit Care page. And to learn more about Netherland Dwarfs as a breed, view our articles about Netherland Dwarfs and their temperament. There are rabbit help and advice groups on Facebook as well as many YouTube videos about what to expect from a pet rabbit. These are great places to do further research. Once you enter the adoption process, we will go above and beyond to find you the perfect companion, so please be considerate of our time and attention.

When you are ready to adopt a pet, please fill out an Adoption Application Form and Robin or Lisa will contact you if approved to set up an appointment time. To reserve a rabbit you will be required to pay in full through an electronic form of payment.

BREEDERS may contact us directly to chat about your needs and what genetics you are looking for.

PICK UP and TRANSPORT OPTIONS

LOCAL PICK UP is available once you are approved for adoption. We have many clients who drive in from the surrounding states. In many instances you may take home your bunny the day you meet them (check for a “ready to go home” date on bunnies under 8 weeks old.)

PRIVATE TRANSPORT and DELIVERY is available through third party transporters. A quick google search will bring up many options. You will be responsible for choosing a transporter you trust and securing your own transportation. We are happy to arrange pick up times with them. We trust Mabel with LC Animal Transport, her number is 347-819-4372. You can reach out to her for timing and transport rates.

DOMESTIC AIRLINE TRANSPORT is also possible through American PetEmbark. You can expect to pay approximately $550-750 total depending on how far the pet is going and miscellaneous fees associated with your pet flying, such as a proper crate for the flight ($60-80) and a required health certificate ($70-90) within 10 days of departure. We have sent many rabbits as far as California and Washington and feel strongly that American Airlines is a safe and trustworthy option for receiving your new pet.

Aaron | Harlequin Buck- $300

  • Sex: male

    Born:

    Breed: Netherland Dwarf

    Variety: Harlequin

    Weight:

  • Aaron came from our partner rabbitry, Thornfield Heritage Farm’s, in Hillsborough. He has the rare harlequin color that Robin and Carter started working on last year.

He has a sweet demeanor, but is still a little shy compared to Breadbox rabbits. He loves to be pet and is good with being picked up.

  • Aaron is not fixed so consider the cost of a neuter if you are hoping to bring him home with other rabbits.

Hershey Kiss | Chocolate Otter Buck- $300

  • Sex: Male

    Born: 6/26/21

    Breed: Netherland Dwarf

    Variety: Chocolate Otter

    Weight: 1 lb 12 oz

  • Hershey Kiss is friendly and outgoing with humans and other rabbits. He has been quite the favorite of our females for the past few years. Stud Muffin. Or Chocolate Cupcake??

He’s not the biggest fan of being picked up, but once he is on your lap he will settle in. He has been a part of many therapy events at Breadbox. We think Hershey would do well in a calmer indoor environment where he can enjoy some good quality time with his family.

He is a tiny nugget, but full of life and will surely entertain you with his charming personality.

  • Hershey’s Kiss is not fixed so consider the cost of a neuter if you are hoping to bring him home with other rabbits.

Chelsea | Chestnut Doe - $300

  • Sex: Female

    Born: 4/29/23

    Breed: Netherland Dwarf

    Variety: Chestnut

    Weight:

  • Chelsea is super sweet, if not a bit reserved, she’s loves to play and cuddle and will steal your heart .

  • Chelsea is not fixed so consider the cost of a spay if you are hoping to bring her home with other rabbits.

Maya | Black Otter Doe - $200

  • Sex: Female

    Born: 12/15/2020, 2 years old

    Variety: Black Otter

    Line: Tame Mee’s Rabbitry

    Weight: 4 lbs!!!! Chunky!

  • Maya is possibly the chunkiest rabbit we have ever had. And we LOVE it! She is sassy and know what she wants in life, and is actually quite active and funny. Her binkies are the best.

She needs a home where she will get a lot of exercise and someone who understands limiting pellet food is good for her long term health. She is food motivated and will love you forever if you give her fresh salad greens and herbs. Her favs are pea greens, sunflower sprouts, and parsley.

She is wonderful with male rabbits and could potentially be bonded to a fixed male.

  • Maya is not fixed so consider the cost of a spay if you are hoping to bring her home with other rabbits.

Iris | Broken Self Blue Doe- $300

  • Sex: female

    Born: 9/4/23

    Breed: Netherland Dwarf

    Variety: Broken Self Blue

    Weight: 2 lbs, 4 oz

  • Iris is very fun, sweet, and full of energy, but she has a mean streak! She gets cage aggressive and nippy and would love a calming individual to balance her out. The fact that she is a feisty, strong woman makes me love her even more. We know she is absolutely perfect for someone out there! (especially if they have thicker skin!)

She is stunning and a perfect dark grey/blue. We were hoping to breed her in our program, but it sems she would prefer a life of luxury without the financial and emotional drain of children. Can anyone out there relate?

  • Iris is not fixed so consider the cost of a spay if you are hoping to bring her home with other rabbits.

Our promise is to provide you with the healthiest rabbit possible. There are currently no rabbit vaccines required for the State of North Carolina but it is worth looking into the virus RHDV2 if you will be travelling to other areas with your rabbit or live in a state with an outbreak.

Guarantee

Although we do our best to choose bunnies with excellent health and temperament, we do realize that we cannot predict the future and issues may arise. If this were to happen we will work with you to solve the problem and will provide you with a replacement companion, if it should come to that. We do not issue refunds, but if at any point you are not able to care for your rabbit anymore, we will gladly take them back (cage required, as we do not often have empty cages.)
